Runabout was the generic name for theDanube class, small warp-capable Starfleetstarships that were in operation in the latterhalf of the 24th century. At 23.1 metres in length,they were larger than standard shuttlecraft, butsmaller than fully-fledged starships. This meant theywere capable of more protracted missions andcarrying more cargo than shuttles, but withoutwasting the resources and manpower that a fullsizedstarship would require.

The ship was designed by concept designer Joseph Hodges and took him nine weeks to complete.The accompanying magazine comes packed with in-depth information about its capability and design.
