Pennsys H class locomotives were of the consolidation type. These 2-8-0, mighty mites measured just under 66 feet, that’s the locomotive and tender combined! The locos may have been small in size but certainly not small in quantities. PRR built over 1,500 units.

First built in 1907 with the signature Pennsy Belpaire – rebox the H class locomotives were still in service until 1957 when the Pennsy ended all steam locomotive operations. Amazing!

PRR and BLI are nearly synonymous in HO steam locomotive modeling. BLI combined the tireless work of our dedicated researchers, the finest train toolmakers in the world and incredibly talented mechanical and sound engineers to produce the locomotive that Pennsy fans have come to love.

These DC and DCC-Sound equipped locomotives feature the ALL-NEW Paragon2 sound and control system. Each Paragon2 locomotive comes with BLI’s own integral DCC Decoder factory installed. Paragon2 locomotives offer Dual Mode DC and DCC operation with: superb back EMF motor control in DC and DCC, recordable DCC operation for automated playback, the same detail level as the original Paragon Series, and the familiar sturdy maroon box!
