These modern prototypes pack 4000 horsepower into a single unit and serve primarily in high-speed intermodal service. Due to their speed capabilities, a passenger version was also built for Amtrak. (These engines are ideal for use with Walthers intermodal equipment, plus Amfleet and Horizon Fleet passenger cars.)

This detailed engine has all the features that modelers look for in a quality locomotive. Things like dual flywheels, a five-pole can motor with skew-wound armature, reversing headlight, all-new drive train, superbly detailed trucks with separate brake gear and “shock absorber” struts, and a heavy diecast frame ensure superior performance.

Note: Slightly Weathered, motor has a little grow but seems to quiet as the unit runs a little.
